Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary School Celebrates Book Week

Last week, OLGC celebrated the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book Week.  This year’s theme was ‘Dreaming with eyes open…’ and the poster celebrated both Australian literature and Aboriginal perspectives.  Throughout the week, classes explored this year’s theme and the 2022 shortlisted books.  Displays popped up all over the school to share all the wonderful books that classes had explored.

We concluded the week with our annual Book Week parade.  OLGC teachers and students showed great creativity in their costumes, bringing all our favourite book characters to life.  We were also fortunate to have had the author Zeno Sworder run sessions throughout the morning.

Book week was a fabulous opportunity to foster a love of reading and one of the highlights of the year so far.
