Thank you from Fr Brendan

Thank you to everyone who attended the Farewell Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church last Sunday evening. I was very moved to see the Church and Gathering Space full of familiar faces from across the communities of Our Lady of Pentecost Parish. Thank you for the beautiful words that so many of your contributed to the farewell book; thank you for the generous monetary gift to which so many of your also contributed. I have had many beautiful, affirming and loving conversations over the last month. I have received many cards and farewell wishes. Thank you to those who were involved in the farewell Mass last week: to those who supervised the car park; those who were involved in the liturgy; to our parish choirs and cantors; to the incredible hospitality teams; to those who made visitors welcome; and to all who simply came along for what was a wonderful parish celebration. I am grateful to you all for your good wishes and support. I have loved being your Parish Priest!

Fr Brendan, It is nearly one week that I said goodbye. I was pleased to be well enough to share your last Mass in Deepdene. When I shook your hand, given my age and medical problems, I suspect that I will never see you again on this earth; perhaps next in heaven. You will be greatly missed and I hope the transition to your new parish gives you all the rewards you deserve. My very best wishes, Warner Mooney. PS Jenny sends her love.
